Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to StoryClio at app.storyclio.com and related services. By creating an account or using StoryClio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

StoryClio is a writing and worldbuilding tool. Features may include project storage, structured story elements, optional AI-assisted coaching (“Clio”), themes, and subscription tiers. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you create in StoryClio. You grant us a limited license to host, process, back up, and display your content solely to operate and improve the service, including providing features you request (such as AI coaching on text you submit).

You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

AI and Clio

Clio and other AI features provide suggestions, questions, and coaching. They do not replace your judgment. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for your final work and for reviewing anything before publication.

Do not use AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing material.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the service, including attempting to break security, scrape or overload systems, harass others, or use StoryClio for illegal purposes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Subscriptions and payments

Paid plans, trials, and billing are described in the app. Prices and features may change with notice as required by law. Payments are handled by our payment processor. Refunds, if any, follow the policy shown at purchase or required by applicable law.

Free tiers and trials may have usage limits (for example project count or AI tokens) as shown in the product.

Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYCLIO AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StoryClio from claims arising out of your content or your misuse of the service, to the extent permitted by law.

Termination

You may stop using StoryClio at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for legal or security reasons. Provisions that by nature should survive (such as disclaimers, limitations, and content licenses) will survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where StoryClio’s operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, unless mandatory local law gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.

Replace the jurisdiction above with your actual entity location when you formalize incorporation.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Material changes may be notified by email or in-app notice where appropriate.
